Former Steelers CB Giving Broncos Insight on Matchup

Ex-Pittsburgh Cornerback Ike Taylor Joining Denver Coaching Staff

The Denver Broncos are getting a boost to their coaching staff with the addition of former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor. Taylor, who played 12 seasons in the NFL, will serve as a defensive backs coach for the Broncos, the team announced on Tuesday.

Taylor's Experience and Expertise

Taylor brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Broncos. He was a three-time Pro Bowl selection and helped the Steelers win Super Bowl XL and XLIII. Taylor is known for his physical style of play and his ability to cover receivers both man-to-man and in zone coverage.

In addition to his playing experience, Taylor has also worked as a coach. He spent the past two seasons as the defensive backs coach at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Broncos Bolstering Defensive Coaching Staff

The Broncos are hoping that Taylor can help improve a defense that struggled in 2022. The team finished 31st in the NFL in passing yards allowed and 29th in points allowed.

Taylor is the latest addition to a Broncos coaching staff that is undergoing a major overhaul. The team fired head coach Nathaniel Hackett after just one season and replaced him with former New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton.

Taylor Excited for New Opportunity

Taylor said he is excited to join the Broncos and help the team improve its defense.

"I'm looking forward to working with Coach Payton and the rest of the staff to help this team get back to the playoffs," Taylor said. "I think I can bring a lot of experience and knowledge to the table, and I'm confident that I can help the Broncos improve their defense."
